day one: los angeles to amsterdam

well it's been a long journey to get to where we are today. A lot of planning, researching, saving, recycling, and penny pinching to be able to make our dreams a reality.
LAX
Brittany and I are about to embark on a three city, nine day tour of Europe, all by ourselves. NO tour guide, NO parents, NO friends, and NO family, just Brittany and I and a map.
Brittany & I on our flight from Los Angeles to Amsterdam
What an adventure this is going to be. I am slightly nervous, and a little bit anxious, but excited as hell to be taking a nice vacation. On this trip we will be going to Amsterdam, Netherlands, Barcelona, Spain, and Rome, Italy. We are definitely going to be logging in some miles and stamps on our passports.
As college students, we are taking on this journey on with a budget. Stay tuned for some tips and tricks on tackling on Europe. Learn from what we did right, and what we did wrong and I guarantee your trip will go smooth sailing. Ours did too, but we did hit our hiccups and bumps along the road.
tip #1: make sure you check with your airline when it comes to the weight of your luggage.
My luggage all organized prior to heading off to the airport
Brittany and I struggled with this a bit because we were constantly sweating bullets every time we went to check our bags because we were AT FULL CAPACITY the whole trip haha. Lord knows how we made it with all of our clothes and souvenirs.
tip #2: jeans weigh alot more than they seem
When we first left LAX, 3 pairs of jeans weighed 6 pounds I was shocked haha. so make sure u pack light and pack right.
tip #3: plan ahead of time, and do your research, make sure you are getting the best deal. As cheesy as it seems, read the reviews, see other people's opinions
I planned all of our tours through Viator. They are a great, reputable, and reliable company that has hundreds of tours all over the world. You may choose to book your tours through another company, but they're a great tool to price your tours compared to other companies.
